Jalapeno poppers are hollowed-out jalapenos filled with an assortment of ingredients, typically cream cheese, spices, and sometimes meat (often wrapped in bacon). They are usually breaded, deep-fried, and served as an appetizer with a ranch or sour cream dip. The flavor has expanded to other dishes such as jalapeno popper dip and jalapeno popper chicken. Instead of jalapenos, other peppers like mini bell peppers or serranos can also be used for a milder or spicier version, respectively.
